Italian A2 test — practice tests and exercises
Each practice test mirrors the real paper: listening (30 points), reading (35) and written interaction (35) — 100 points in about an hour. You pass with at least 80 points overall, and there is no minimum for any single paper. Practising here is free, in the browser, with no sign-up.
ⓘ Our exercises are sample papers in the format of the test, created with the help of artificial intelligence and reviewed by us () — a tool to help you prepare. We use no official test material or questions, and this site replaces neither a teacher nor a language course — see the Terms of Service.
What each practice test contains
Each practice test is a full paper in the real format: two listening texts with the recordings, two reading texts and one written-interaction task — a reply to an e-mail, a postcard or an invitation, or a form to fill in. You do it all online, in the browser: nothing to print, nothing to install.
Objective questions are marked instantly and give you a score. The written task is graded by AI: it tells you whether you supplied every piece of information you were asked for, where the problems are, and what a good answer would have looked like. What counts is getting the message across, not flawless grammar.
How to use them
The simplest way is to sit one complete practice test and see where the points go. Then come back to your weak spot in the practice sections — photo description, writing and monologue each have their own AI-graded exercises.
Watch your margin, because that is where this test is genuinely hard: you need 80 points out of 100, so you can afford to lose only 20 in total — and if the written task lands in the partial band, the margin drops to 13. One thing works in your favour: wrong answers cost nothing, so always answer, even when you are guessing.
Common questions
Are the practice tests free?
Yes. On this site every practice test, every recording and the AI grading work free of charge — on the AI tasks you only confirm that you are not a bot.
Do the exercises come with answers?
Yes. Objective questions are checked automatically and show the correct answer, and the text you write gets an AI evaluation along with an example of a good answer.
Are these real past papers?
No — they are our own tasks, written to the official specification of the test (DM 7 dicembre 2021 and the technical guidance on content, scoring and duration). No official sample paper is published online for this test, so no site can hand you "the real one".
